Oxfam Italia is an Italian Development NGO, non-profit association, full member of the International Confederation Oxfam which involved 18 organizations networked together in more than 90 countries, as part of a global movement for change, to build a future free from the injustice of poverty.
One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty. Around the globe, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them.
In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organizations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.
Oxfam Italia promotes humanitarian aid and develops international cooperation projects in different areas of intervention, from agricultural and rural development, vocational training and education, to support interventions for health, strengthening of social public services and economic development to the local disaster prevention and environmental protection.
Based on research and analysis and on the real experience of local partners in developing countries, Oxfam Italia, in collaboration with all the other Oxfam affiliates, carries out campaigning, advocacy and educational activities in order to raise public awareness of the causes of poverty, to encourage ordinary people to take action for a fairer world and press decision-makers to change policies and practices that reinforce poverty and injustice.
